It takes a lot of talent and lots of practice,” the mostly self-taught painter told me with an Italian accent that had my attention. Prior to moving to the U.S. in the early 80’s, she’d traveled extensively throughout Italy and during our interview mentioned a fondness for Venice (a locale she enjoys painting) several times. “The water is so soothing and quiet – sciacqettio!
